The Cornish Pasty Association - Protecting the Cornish Pasty

The Cornish Pasty Association has produced a film to support its PGI application and to emphasise the importance of the Cornish Pasty to the county.

The film looks at the history and heritage of the Cornish Pasty as well as showing how a genuine Cornish Pasty is made.

The Cornish Pasty Association is a group of more than 50 pasty makers based in Cornwall formed in 2002 to protect the quality and reputation of the Cornish Pasty.

The Association is applying for European protected status for the Cornish Pasty and has lodged an application for Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status. If the application is successful it will mean that only pasties made in Cornwall, to a traditional recipe and manner can legally be called Cornish pasties.
